Kelly Construction Breaks Ground on Vance W. Amory International Airport Expansion

Kelly Construction has commenced another major aviation infrastructure project following the signing of a contract with the Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority (NASPA) and the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) for works associated with the expansion of the Vance W. Amory International Airport.

The 10-month construction package includes the rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of the existing runway and apron, extensions to both ends of the runway, construction of a new aircraft apron, and the construction and rehabilitation of associated carriageways.

The works form part of the wider transformation of the airport, which is intended to strengthen Nevis’ air connectivity and support continued growth in tourism and economic activity. The project will also create direct opportunities for local tradespeople, equipment operators and service providers throughout the construction period.

For Kelly Construction, the project represents its fourth airport project in the Eastern Caribbean within the past five years, further strengthening the company’s experience in the delivery of complex aviation infrastructure. Recent projects have included works at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in St. Kitts, Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport in Anguilla, and V.C. Bird International Airport in Antigua.

As a locally based company with its roots in the Federation, Kelly Construction is particularly proud to contribute its regional experience and technical capabilities to this important investment in Nevis’ future.

The company looks forward to working alongside NASPA, the NIA, project partners and the people of Nevis to safely and successfully bring this important project to fruition.
