With the arrival of the solar modules on site, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Solar Carport Phase 1 is expected to be completed and commissioned well before the end of the year 2019.As the global push to decrease fossil fuel dependence, the ECCB aims to offset their energy needs substantially with this installation, owing to the mostly sunny days on Caribbean islands.
To date, all the prefabricated structures have been installed, DC and AC wiring works as well as the site works are near completion. Upon completion, the Phase-1 Carports is expected to provide 494 kw of grid-interactive photovoltaic solar-energy, yet another step towards a more sustainable future for us all.
