Kelly Construction recently wrapped up its final works on the Port Zante Second Cruise Ship Pier at Basseterre, St. Kitts. The company had contractually completed its project works earlier in August as per schedule but continued with additional T&M works into October 2019.
This second pier will greatly enhance the economic viability for the tourism product in St. Kitts and Nevis and now enhances the island’s appeal as it can now handle the larger modern class of cruise ships. One of the few destinations in the Caribbean with such facilities.
The total scope of works has included the rock revetment works, production of the pre-cast planks, cast-in-place (CIP) concrete works and smaller works such as the installation of guard rails and lighting. The total contract works was in excess of US $5.7 million.
